Dr. William H. Danforth’s Comments on Medical Research

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch featured a powerful op-ed commentary by Dr. William H. Danforth about our personal debts to medical research on Sunday, June 3, 2007. The text was excerpted from a speech given May 14 by Dr. Danforth after receiving the Christopher Hobler Spirit of Hope Award from Hope Happens, a nonprofit organization supporting The Hope Center for Neurological Disorders at Washington University. Dr. Danforth is the Chancellor Emeritus of Washington University.
